ELDER HOBBS, Missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints, in the Colorado Denver North Mission. Arrived in Colorado June 7, 2010 after three weeks at the Missionary Training Center in Provo Utah. Will serve approximately 24 months, to be home sometime in May 2012. His mission covers Northern Colorado, Southern Wyoming and Southwest Nebraska and he will be sent to various towns within that area for weeks or months at a time. We love and miss you, Elder!!

Please write to Elder Hobbs at and send packages to:

Elder Anthony Hobbs
Colorado Denver North Mission
11172 Huron Ste 21
Northglenn, CO 80234

You can also email him at anthony.hobbs@myldsmail.net but he has very little computer time, so mailed letters are the best.

He would LOVE to hear from all of you, and would love care packages. He needs FOOD (money is a bit tight in the mission field, they love to get things like cake/cookie mixes, treats, dry goods, canned goods, etc) and of course money. Elder Hobbs has waited to arrive to purchase things like a bike and warm winter clothing such as coats, if you want to help him with such things, he would greatly appreciate it. He is out there working hard everyday and would love your support.

Please keep in mind, his preparation day is Monday. This is the day he has to email, shop, do laundry, play, etc, so please understand if he doesn't respond quickly and if his emails and notes are brief, time is limited for him.

BECOME A FOLLOWER SO YOU CAN GET UPDATES AND SO HE CAN SEE WHO IS 'WATCHING' HIM!

Letter May 29th

A LETTER!!

Elder Hobbs' emails have been brief, but we received a very nice letter from him talking about many things happening in the MTC. He said he had a rough first few days, but since then his experience there has greatly improved and he is loving mission life. He is always happy, he loves his district and his leaders. He states that they sing Hymns all the time and have be told by several people that they are the best singing group ever!! He states that he is kinda suprized by some of the deep important experiences he has had.
He shared that one of his teachers told him that he was one of the happiest, excited and most loving missionaries he has ever met. And says "it is true I tell everyone I love them".
He asked me to share the following with everyone:
"I do love this though. I'm happy that I made this decision, I feel honored to have my name next to our Saviors for all the world to see. For the loving examples that I have been blessed with. The encouragement and support I have been given. Elder K----- in my district says he went on a mission to make his bishop happy and to please him. I know I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for the love of Bishop Williams and his gentle but powerful love for me. I am not here to please anyone other than myself and God. Through him he will make weak things strong. I have gained a firm testimony in the power of the Spirit and how it can lead me. Not a day goes by that I don't miss those I have left, but not a day goes by where I don't know that they are being cared for. My sincerest hope is my mission will bless others more than it will me. I know that we have a loving Eternal Father in Heaven. That he has give us families and loved ones to bless us for eternity. He would not give us such important relationships if they weren't for a reason. I know Christ came to this earth and atoned for our sins to prepare a way back to him. That that way has been restored in its fullness through the Book of Mormon, which was resorted through a true Prophet called of God, Joseph Smith. That following the commandments and upholding our covenants we can have eternal life. I love you with all my heart and miss you more than you can imagine. I testify these things to you in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ. Amen."
